Employers should bear the cost of short-term haze work suspensions, with no pay or leave deductions, says MOS Dinesh

Replying to MPs in Parliament on 3 Nov, Minister of State for Manpower Dinesh Vasu Dash said employers should absorb the cost of short-term or ad hoc haze-related work suspensions and not deduct workers’ salaries or leave, with arrangements discussed with unions and employees only if operations stop for prolonged periods. He added that MOM’s haze guidelines apply to all sectors and will continue to be checked during worksite inspections.
