Why Key Employment Terms matter
KETs aren’t optional. MOM requires every employer to issue them in writing within 14 days of an employee’s start date, covering the basics — job title, hours, salary, and notice period — that would otherwise only exist as a verbal understanding.
Missing or incomplete KETs is one of the easier compliance gaps for MOM or a Tripartite Alliance complaint to catch, precisely because it’s meant to be simple paperwork with no room for ambiguity.
This generates the standard MOM KETs fields for reference. Employers with contract workers, commission-based pay, or shift schedules may need extra clauses beyond this list — see MOM’s official KETs template for edge cases.
